Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about van rental, booking, travelling abroad and the rental terms.

Keleiviniai automobiliai

Who takes care of refuelling? How much fuel is in the vehicle when I pick it up?

The standard “full to full” fuel policy applies: you pick the vehicle up with a full tank and bring it back with a full tank. During the trip, fuel is the renter's responsibility.

What category of driving licence do I need to drive an 8–9 seat van?

An ordinary category B driving licence is enough for all of our passenger vans (8 and 9 seats). No additional D or C category is needed.

Booking and Documents

Can companies rent an EkoVan van?

Yes, of course. We work with companies, organisations and public bodies. We issue official VAT invoices and can sign both short-term and long-term cooperation agreements with flexible payment terms.

How can I book a van?

You can book in a couple of convenient ways: press the “Send an Inquiry” button and answer 4 short questions, or call the phone number on our contacts page. We will find a free vehicle and send you a confirmation.

Using an EkoVan Vehicle

Can I take an EkoVan van abroad?

Yes, our vehicles may be driven to European Union and EEA countries (e.g. Poland, Slovakia, Austria, Germany, Norway and others). Please let us know which countries you plan to visit when the agreement is signed, so we can prepare the international documents you will need.

What if I go over the daily mileage limit?

The base rental price includes 450 km per day (counted over the whole rental period, e.g. 4 days = 1,800 km). Beyond that limit, every extra kilometre costs €0.17 / km.

Can more than one person drive the vehicle?

Yes, and on long trips that matters a lot for safety. Additional drivers can be added to the rental agreement free of charge, as long as they show a valid driving licence.

Payment and Other Charges

How large is the deposit, and when is it returned?

The standard deposit starts at €300. It is held or transferred before you pick the vehicle up and returned straight after the vehicle is inspected on its return (or within 1–3 working days, depending on the bank).

Which payment methods are accepted?

You can pay by bank transfer against an advance invoice, by payment card, or in another way agreed in advance.

Returning the Vehicle

In which cities can I pick up and return a van?

Our main bases are in Kaunas, Vilnius and Klaipėda. By prior arrangement we can also deliver or collect the vehicle at any Lithuanian airport or in another city.

Do I have to wash the vehicle before returning it?

The vehicle must be returned tidy, without heavy dirt or rubbish piled up inside. If you have no time to clean it after your trip, you can use our extra exterior and interior cleaning service.

Insurance and Accidents

What insurance is included in the rental price?

Every EkoVan vehicle is covered by full CASCO and compulsory MTPL rental insurance and comes with 24/7 roadside assistance all over Lithuania and Europe.

What should I do after an accident or a breakdown?

First make sure your passengers are safe. Then contact the EkoVan team straight away on the phone number on our contacts page. Our roadside assistance works 24 hours a day – we will arrange technical help or a replacement vehicle.

Care and Extra Services

Can I also order child seats or a roof box?

Yes, on request we can provide safe child seats for different age groups, roof bars, a roof box or snow chains for trips to the mountains. Just mention it when you send your inquiry.

Didn't Find an Answer?

Every trip is different, so some questions we can only answer once we see the dates, the route and the number of passengers. Send an inquiry or give us a call – we will reply the same working day and suggest the most suitable vehicle.
